Pools are great in summer ...but even in the Mediterranean, the longest summers last only a few months in any year.Heating can be expensive to run - costs can be prohibitive - often too much to justify.
This unique business, market leader in the Balearic Islands, supplies and installs pool heating and other systems for owners, villa rental companies and hotels. The business was started in 2002 and grew to produce profits of almost €70,000 in the year ended in March 2007.
The business is not related to the hugely competitive holiday trade, but concentrates on the well off villa owners who abound in Mallorca. There are more of these types of customer than in any other part of Spain, and the market is growing. Although the business is the largest installer in the Balearics it has barely scratched the surface of a total estimated market of about 10,000 owners plus over 3,000 holiday rental villas. Private owners buy because the company has the best offering at competitive prices, and because it is now the biggest system supplier in the Balearics with a great reputation. Owners renting their villas for holidays, privately or through villa rental companies buy because the product and service give them a return on investment of over 50% a year, and the company has proved its offering to them.
The business can be run from home or a small office and has a lock up for spares and small stock holding.
The system calculations are all part of the package for sale, along with the forward orders and prospects. Strong prospects are €180,000. Gross profit is 60% or more, with very good prices from key suppliers. Overheads are minimal.
This business can easily be run part time by a couple, best if the man is a practical person able to do simple plastic plumbing, and using sub-contract electrician and labour as required. Much reduced work load in summer season; overall takes about 50% of ones time.
As most customers are British or English speaking, Spanish is not essential.
